The following MEAPA® committees are typically by invitation only. However if you are a current MEAPA® member and feel that you may be a good fit for any or all of these committees, you can send an invitation request to the MEAPA® Director.
Please note that members approved to join an Invitation Only committee may be subject to a background check, drug testing, and level 1 fingerprint clearance.
Alternatives to Guardianship CommitteeTo reduce the need for guardianship through resource development. The Alternatives to Guardianship committee is currently working together to advocate for increased use of alternatives by community through developing a resource guide to alert and use as a tutorial for many.
F.A.S.T (Fiduciary Abuse Specialist Team)To address the needs of the vulnerable adult victims of financial exploitation in Maricopa County, and satisfy the demands of justice. The committee is a multidisciplinary team that is designed to assist in the investigation, resolution and prevention of elder financial abuse cases.
MASHTo support the APS (Adult Protective Service) Service Coordination Program through collaboration of community stakeholders. MASH members work together to discuss cases from a systems perspective. Through building relations among members, cases can be prioritized to ensure health and safety needs are met in a timely manner.
Refugee Health Protection Task Force
To educate community related to the health protection of elder refugees. Through advocacy, education and community outreach, the committee is proactively addressing prevention of abuse and self neglect.
The committee has provided information on Domestic Violence and medical benefits and is currently partnering with a local medical center as a pilot program to ensure a translator is available for the Burundi population. This pilot program will ensure the group is receiving proper health care and will decrease the opportunity for medical fraud.
